William P. Tarantino, of Hatfield, formerly of Quakertown, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, in Grand View Hospital.
He was 94.
He was the husband of the late Bertha A. (Jasinski) Tarantino.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frank L. and Anna (Asta) Tarantino.
He was the owner, with his brothers Joseph and Frank, of the former F. L. Tarantino and Sons Memorials in Quakertown, now Quakertown Memorials.
He was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown, where he was an usher. William was a member of the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Stritch Council 4649.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II and also a member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242.
He is survived by a son, William M. and his wife, Linda E., of Hatfield, with whom he resided; a brother, Joseph C. and his wife, Constance, of Quakertown; three sisters, Lucy Moody of Arkansas, Elenore Gore and her husband, Preston, of Alabama, and Mary Weyland of Florida; and a granddaughter, Amanda Marie.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia; two brothers, John and Frank; and five sisters, Sue Ives, Ann Fillman, Grace Greenwood, Clara Schilling and Josephine Morinelli.
A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 2545 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown. Calling hours will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday in C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church.
