L. Gayle Lindquist, 85, of North Baltimore, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore. She was born on June 3, 1933, in Covington, KY to the late Zack and Viola (Hagan) Barker. She married John H. Lindquist on April 25, 1952, and he preceded her in death. Gayle is survived by her sons: Kevin (Karen) Lindquist, Byron (Tina) Lindquist and Edward (Martha) Lindquist; her brother, Myron (Jan) Barker of Edgewood, KY; sisters: Eris Schultz of Susanville, CA, Sharon Sibrel of Napa Valley, CA and Paige Crail of Covington, KY; her grandchildren: Angie (Jason) Patchen, Jacob (Trish) Lindquist, Jamie (Shannon) Lindquist, Andrew (Erin) Lindquist, Ahshawlee (LeAnn) Coppler and Chantel Benjamin; her great-grandchildren: Kayden, Garret and Emma Lou; her step-grandson, Jacob (Kirstea) Roose; her step-great-greadson, Jamison Roose; and her special niece, Leslie Lindquist. She was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Barker; her sisters: Leah Hall and Mabel Christian. Gayle had worked at Marathon Oil Company, Budd Company and for Dr. Gonzalez throughout her life. She was an extremely creative person, sewing, making jewelry and painting crafts. One of her favorite things to do was paint rocks with The Findlay Rocks Club, where they affectionately referred to her as a Rock Star. She would complete her painted rocks with a heart and G.G. (Love Granny Gayle). She also had been a member of the Red Hats Society. Everyone that knew Granny Gayle grew to love her and she will be deeply missed. "We miss you mom (Granny Gayle)." A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2018 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held 3 hours (11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) prior to the service. Pastor Jim Baney officating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Baltimore Public Library and/or St. Jude's.
