Chuck was born to Ivaughn and Naomi Bates in Tulsa. Later the family moved to Warner, he then graduated from Del City High School. He married and had two children: Michael and Jodi. Later Chuck started working at Tennessee Valley Authority, moving to Texas, then back to Oklahoma where he retired.
