Jerome John Beach, age 83, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully, Monday, July 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by generations of family members indebted to him for his years of unconditional love and faithful support. Jerome was preceded in death by his brother Robert Frank Beach, his father Robert Leander Beach, and his mother, Elizabeth Ann Schwertner/Beach. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Martha Eckert Beach, children John and Whitney Beach of Lubbock, Texas, James and Dena Beach of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and Robert and Melinda Gee of San Antonio, Texas. His grandchildren are Jarrett and Kennedy Beach, Hadley and Seth Beach, and Addison, Parker, Tarah, and Jessica Gee Edge. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Lange of Arlington, Texas, niece Tammy Lange and nephew Tim Lange. Jerome was born in San Angelo, Texas and raised in Miles, Texas. He attended Miles High School, playing football as a Miles "Bulldog". He graduated from Texas Technological College (Texas Tech) in 1957, living and working in the "old dairy barn". A member of the 1955-1957 Livestock and Dairy Cattle Judging teams, he developed lifelong friendships with his team members. He served in the National Guard and Army Reserve Training Program. Jerome was a cattleman and in the agricultural seed business for over 50 years, taking great pride in his business friendships/relationships. In 2007, he became a resident of San Antonio, Texas. An avid Dallas Cowboy fan, he only missed watching two games in his life. He was a lover of life, the family historian, and a lifter of souls with his frequent smiles and encouraging humor. Jerome's greatest accomplishment will be the loving acts, carried out by those who were blessed by knowing him. We will find satisfaction in the simple things of life, our relationships with family and friends, the laughter of others, the quiet of a morning, and the whistling of bobwhite quail. We will be humbled by our imperfections yet live in the freedom of grace. We will live with more empathy for others and the pain they are carrying. This is how Jerome lived and by God's grace how we should all carry on. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice, especially those for the hearing impaired.
