Our very best friend, Joan (Blair) Brgoch, passed away unexpectedly in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 11, 2016 after a long and truly valiant fight against Churg-Strauss syndrome. Her children were blessed to be by her side as she took her last breath. Joan was born October 17, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Beverly (Smith) Blair. She attended Granger High School, graduating in 1970. She was an outgoing girl with a multitude of friends, many of whom went on to become lifelong relationships. Joan was very creative and always had an eye for design, which led her to pursue a career as a florist at ZCMI. Early in her career at ZCMI, she met and fell in love with Michael Rex Brgoch, whom she married on July 18, 1973. Together, they had three children - Travis, Jessica, and Michael. Joan devoted the majority of her time, thereafter, to being the definition of the perfect stay-at-home Mom and an overall domestic Goddess. She was caring, selfless, loving, understanding, ever-patient, and always present. As her children grew older, several family businesses were started and Joan put her heart and soul along with blood, sweat, and tears into their success. Joan also spent time volunteering, along with her mother, Beverly, at Pioneer Valley Hospital. She treasured the days she got to spend giving her time while spending it with her mother. Joan enjoyed using her creative talent for arts and crafts. She also adored spending time with friends and family, always going above and beyond to make every meal and gathering perfect. Time with her grandchildren, Rylee, Zaydee, Marki, Dakota, and Aiden--who lovingly referred to her as Yaya--brought her much pride and joy. Mere days before her passing, she had the honor and pleasure of meeting her new great-grandson, Brycen. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Rex Brgoch, and her father, Charles W. Blair. She is survived by her mother Beverly (Smith) Blair; sons, Travis (Mary); daughter, Jessica Jafari (Jason); son, Michael (Lesley); sister, Betty Jo Botts (John); five grandchildren and one great-grandson; as well as many other dear family members. Joan was kind, hilarious, loving, strong, funny, and adorable. She was genuinely everyone's best friend, including that of her children, grandchildren, and especially, her Mom. To know her truly was to love her. To say she will be missed is an understatement. She will be forever be our Spirit in the Sky.

A rosary vigil will begin at 5:00 pm followed by a viewing 6:00-8:00 pm on January 22, 2016 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 E. Highland Drive SLC, Utah 84106. Funeral Service will be held on January 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the same address.
