Opal Jackson, 84, passed away August 11, 2018, at Copiah Living Center. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12-2pm at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs followed by a graveside service and internment at New Zion Cemetery in Crystal Springs.
Opal was selfless and giving to others. Her family was always first in her thoughts and heart. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Vernon Ray Jackson, and great grandsons, the Owens twins. She is survived by her two sons, Ray Jackson (Sharon) of Hudson’s Hope, British Columbia, Canada and Larry Jackson of Crystal Springs; brothers, Jimmy Jackson and Tally Jackson; sisters, Irma Sykes and Winnie Banks; grandchildren, Tucker Jackson of Gardiner, Montana, Ben Jackson of Hudson’s Hope, BC, Canada, Angie Fagan (James) of Bassfield, Rebecca Powers (Jason) of Juneau, Alaska, Judd Jackson (Claire) of Wesson, Dallas Owens (Matt) of Wesson, and Max Jackson of Crystal Springs; and great grandchildren, Abigail and Will Fagan, Isabelle, Cannon, and Jaxton Powers, Allias Owens, and John Ross Jackson.

Clemmie W. Rogers, 89, a homemaker, died of heart failure Saturday at Vicksburg Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. today at Stringer Funeral Home with burial in New Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughters, Erma Sykes and Opal Jackson, both of Crystal Springs, and Winnie Banks of Vicksburg; sons, Conrad Rogers of Columbia, S.C., Jimmy Rogers of Jacksonville, Fla., Frank Rogers and Talmadge Rogers, both of Crystal Springs, and Dan Rogers of Vicksburg; and 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
