Married Mary D. Spofford (1856-1830) in Redwood Falls, MN in 1877. Together, they had one daughter, Iva Theresa in 1881 in Redwood Falls.
Iva married Harry Birrer in Minneapolis in 1915 and by 1922, they had moved to Los Angeles, CA. Iva's mother, Mary, also moved with them. Records indicate all three - Mary, Iva and Harry lived the remainder of their lives in California. Mary passed away in 1930, Iva in 1972 and Harry in 1948.

Born in New Hampshire on July 28, 1840.
Finished his education at Hampden University
In 1861 enlisted in the Union Army, Co H, 14th New Hampshire Infantry, served three years in the service.
After the war he and his brother Solon came to Redwood County and homestead together in Gale township, which was named after these two brothers.
Elected Redwood County Sheriff and lived in Redwood Falls in 1880. Sheriff from Jan 8, 1880 – Jan 3, 1882.
Married Miss May Spofford of Redwood Falls
They were the parents of one daughter, Theresa.
He died suddenly May 29, 1912, the day before Decoration Day. He was gathering flowers which were to be used for decorating the soldiers graves at the cemetery.
