Faye passed away at age 95 after a short struggle with pneumonia and sepsis Aug. 4, 2018, at Maple Springs Assisted Living in North Logan, Utah. She was born June 29, 1923, in Logan, Utah, to Margaret Ann Schaub and Fredrick Joesph Kloepfer. She attended Logan schools and graduated from Logan High School and she attended Utah State Agricultural College. Faye married Ronald Vernal Buttars in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept. 15, 1942. They have four children and divorced in 1974. She married Jareld D Atwood in 1983. Both spouses proceeded her in death.

She worked at Keith O'Brian, Everton Publishing Co. and ZCMI for 20 years in gift wrapping. She retired from ZCMI at age 70. Faye is survived by one brother, Fred (Janet) Kloepfer, and two sisters, Janice Blanchard and Geneva Manaton. She has four children, Ronda (Garry) Bybee, Lanny Buttars, Scott Buttars and Joni (Thomas) Axtell, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Joyce Buttars and Melissa Buttars, seven siblings and a great-great-grandson.

Faye had many attributes that will go with her into eternity. She was easy to be around, enjoyed her neighbors and friends, loved visiting with extended family and had a "live and let live" approach to life. She was never heavy handed with others. She loved her siblings and admired and served her parents. She appreciated nature especially trees and flowers. Faye counted it a blessing to live under the hill and by the river. She was patient, non-judgmental, and spoke her mind but never at the expense of others.

She had a quick wit. Her positive attitude contributed to her long life. She was a dignified lady who showed a good example to her family. She loved traveling, especially road trips and trips to Hawaii.

In her youth she enjoyed singing, dancing and skating. Faye loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She liked to work, was task-oriented and was a good employee. As true to her life, Faye often said, "That was a good job done." We will miss her very much, but she is home now surrounded by love.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, beginning at noon at the Riverside Ward chapel, 325 Lauralin Drive, in Logan, with a visitation prior beginning at 11 a.m. Condolences may be expressed online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
