Thomas Alvord Passes Away.
At his home on Chapel street last Friday morning occurred the death of Thomas Alvord, who has been suffering from cancer for some months past Mr. Alvord was 65 years old, and was a son of Phineas Alvord, one of the pioneers of this town. He has been a resident of this village for many years, following the occupation of painter. Deceased is survived by his wife, one son Prof. Charles Alvord of Buffalo, three daughters, Mrs. Florence Cornwell of Philadelphia, Mrs. Wm. Burris of Jackson, Mich., and Miss Kate Alvord of this village, one brother, Mr. George Alvord of this village, and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Miller of Rockford, Ill.
The funeral was held from the house Sunday afternoon, Rev. F. C. Thompson officiating.
