On 16 January 1873, William H. Cook & wife Nannie gifted to Jeremiah H. Graves & wife A. M. C. Cook Graves for $1.00 the land passed down to her father William by his father Thomas. The land Thomas Cook resided on was on the Staunton River in Pittsylvania County, VA composed of three different tracts of land, one 525 acres, another 245 acres & the third 180 acres each adjoining the other totaling 950 acres. This deed is located in Pittsylvania County Deed Book 66, pages 135-136 & dated 10 January 1873.
