Gail Marie (Melter) Grote completed her final journey on this earth and is now embraced by God's loving grace and mercy. At age 59, Gail died peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 14, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Gail was born on March 27, 1959 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Bernard R. and Mary Anne (Czerwinski) Melter. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1977, and went on to serve with the US Army from 1980 until her honorable discharge in 1985. After the Army, she worked for the Federal Government in information technology.
Gail had a passion for her dogs, fishing, camping, and the beauty of the Colorado mountains. Gail loved her family with all her heart and soul. Her family will continue their life journey without Gail present until we can all be together again in the loving arms of our savior Christ our Lord. Love, peace and happiness!
Gail was preceded in death by her father, Bernard “Bernie” Melter.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Anne “Midge” Melter of Cannon Falls; her siblings, Scott (Treva) Melter of Linwood, Mark (Tristen) Melter of Savage, Frank (Jennifer) Melter of Shawnee, OK, and Deanna “Dee” (Paul) Grausam of Minneapolis.
A private family service will be held. Private inurnment with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
