A memorial service for Jo Butler, 86, a retired teacher, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church Stephenville with Rev. Charles Somerville officiating.

Jo was born in McDade to Tryron J. and Fayth Branton. She married Luther D. Butler, Sr. on Aug. 13, 1957 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the American Association of University Women, and the Zonta Club. She taught school in Acoma, New Mexico, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Austin, Texas. She tutored at the Foster Home for fifteen years and was a missionary with the Baptist Home Mission Board.

Survivors include her husband, Luther D. Butler, Sr., a son, a grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
