Charles Stephen Todd was born on the 25th of October 1872 in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk the son of Charles Simeon Todd and his wife Mary Ann (nee Topps). His father was a schoolmaster in Wellesbourne Hastings in Norfolk in 1881. His parents divorced in 1891.

In 1891 he was living with his Grandparent’s Thomas and Amy Topps in Great Yarmouth where his grandfather was a fish merchant. Charles was already working as a schoolteacher in the town.

In 1911 he was living with his mother and two sisters in Tottenham in London. He was then a teacher in Walthamstow. His sisters’ were both teachers. He did not marry.

In 1931 he moved with his mother to Brambledene in Gordon Road in Camberley. His younger brother Percy Jarrad Todd had set up in business here in the early 20th century and gradually almost all his family came to live in Camberley (His brother is buried in Grave L8 XVI)

Charles died at his home in Camberley on the 8th of April 1945. He was buried at St Peter’s on the 12th April 1945.
