KNIGHT, SR., CHARLES AUGUSTUS 84, a retired United States Navy Captain, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at an Arlington hospital.
Memorial Service: 3 pm Friday, November 18, 2005, Moore Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Cliff Johnston officiating.
His ashes will be entombed at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (Col B Row CT1 Site A36).
Captain Knight had been an Arlington resident for many years, and was retired after a successful career in the United States Navy. He took pride in the fact that he was a member of the original Blue Angels Flight Team. After retiring from the Navy in July 1968, he worked for LTV Corp. in Dallas and for Northrop Corp., now Northrop-Grumman Corp., in Hawthorne, Calif. He returned to North Texas in the last 1980s and worked briefly for Vought Corp. before retiring.
Captain Knight was an avid golfer, and very active in the Arlington social community, where he was well loved and respected. Those who knew and loved him will forever be blessed by his life, and his spirit will live forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Augustus Knight, Jr. in 2002.
Survivors: Wife - Merle Knight; daughter - Marni Benson and husband Scott, of Coppell; grandchildren - Stephen, Ryan, and Michael Berndt, of Coppell.
