Melissa Brinegar, 28, of Speegleville passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007, after being struck by lightning during a severe thunderstorm. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Melissa was born in Arizona, to Paul and Sharon Czernics. She was a graduate of Connally High School. She married Jeff Brinegar on April 22, 2000, in Valley Mills. She was currently a student at McClennan Community College. Melissa loved family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Brinegar; daughter, Kara, both of Speegleville; mother, Sharon Shirk, of Arizona; father, Paul Czernics, of Pennsylvania; grandmother, Lana Jean Shirk, of Arizona; brothers, Michael Shirk and Matt Czernics; step-father, Mitch Angel, of Arizona; and sister, Jessie Czernics.
