Elaine was a 1956 graduate of Easton High School and attended Churchman's Business College. She was last employed by Mallinckrodt Baker in Phillipsburg, NJ. She was previously employed by Horns Fashion and Farr's Shoes, both of Easton.
She enjoyed walking, gardening, tending to her flowerbeds and inside plants (especially her violets), trips to Maine, and vacationing at Beach Haven, NJ. Her passion was volunteering her baking skills, leadership, and time to the Riegelsville Community Fire Company No. 1 for over 52 years, Meals on Wheels, Eastern Upper Bucks Seniors, Riegelsville Enhancement Committee, Leisure Time Group, Worship and Music Committee. She also served as clerk for the Election Board. Elaine loved her community and was a regular attendee at borough committee and council meetings. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, American Legion Post No. 950, and Easton Elks Auxiliary.
Elaine is survived by her son, Kevin Kern; sister, Dr. Ellen Clemens; stepdaughter, Summer Hawk Wolf; two nieces, Carol Ann Slack and Marcella Kern; and three nephews, James, Russell and Charles Kern. Her first husband, Ernest Kern, died in 1976.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at 11 a.m., in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riegelsville, PA. Interment of Elaine's and Frank's cremains will be held privately in the Riegelsville Union Cemetery. Elaine's beautiful violets and other plants will be present in the church. If you can give them a loving home, we are sure she would be grateful.
