Carrie Elizabeth Pemberton Graves, age 80, of Gallatin passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Carrie was born on December 7, 1936 to Richard Lonzo and Sara Melvina Payton Pemberton. She was married to the love of her life Delano Ward Graves Sr. in April 1962. Together, they made their home and raised their two children in Gallatin. Mrs. Carrie worked as a nurse, teacher, banker, artist and occasional palm reader before retiring from the Gallatin Water Department. She was also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Delano Ward (Shari) Graves, Jr. of Portland; daughter, Laura Allyn Henrickson of Gallatin, sister-in-laws Ruth Graves, Donah Hall, Sharon Graves, and Joyce Pemberton; and grandchildren Sasha (Chad) Craighead, Amber (Bill) York, Trevor Ray Sloan, Delano Ward Graves III, Allyn Sloan, and Andrew Sloan; along with many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 3 pm to 6 pm and also on Saturday, September 2, 2017, 9 am to 10 am at the Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church located at 1042 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10am at Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church with Bro. Eugene Martino officiating. Internment will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
