Mr. Maurer and a brother, Michael B. (Micky) Maurer, founded Wrecks Inc., 10600 Lafayette Road, in 1949.
Mr. Maurer was born in Indianapolis and was graduated from Shortridge High School. He served as a bombardier in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
He was a member of B’nai B’rith Lodge 53, Broad Ripple American Legion Post and Aero Flying Club.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 21 in Beth-El Zedeck Temple, with burial in Beth-El Zedeck Memorial Park.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Betty Maurer; two daughters, Misses Bonnie Jo and Wendy Sue Maurer, and two sons, Michael S. and Ronald L. Maurer, all of Indianapolis.
