Frank (Mason) Proffitt, 82, of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 20th, 2018. He was born on July 17th, 1936 to Chester Frank and Ruby Beatrice (Gould) Proffitt in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma. Mason grew up and attended school in Fairview, Oklahoma graduating in 1956. He was united in marriage to Karen Blair on September 17, 1959 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Mason was a true cowboy, raised on ranches and participated in the sport of rodeo. He enjoyed competing in roughstock events, timed events, announcing and was even a rodeo clown. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, insurance crop adjuster, auctioneer, licensed real estate broker but truly loved gathering and working cattle for others through his Custom Cowboy Cattle Business. Mason was a member of the 4th & College Church of Christ and the American Legion. He also served in the Army National Guard.
