Born in Scotland on May 4, 1907, David F. Irvine, formerly of E. Center Street, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Marion General Hospital. He was 73.

Mr. Irvine became a U.S. citizen in 1940. He was first married to Frances M. Kern, who preceded him in death in 1959. In 1967, he married Priscilla Elliott Stevens, who survives him.

Before his retirement, he was employed for 25 years with Marion Power Shovel Co. He also worked for 21 years on the custodial staff of Marion City Schools.

Along with his widow, he has two surviving daughters, Jacqueline Lee Valentine and Alicia Lynn Canter, both of Marion; a stepdaughter, Shirley Vance of Willard; a stepson, Donnie Stevens of Plattsburgh, NY; a sister, Mrs. George (Sarah) Jonsson of Marion; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A brother is deceased.
