Obituary
"The death of Robert Davidson, an aged and highly respected resident of the town of Otsego, took place at his home in Pierstown, Thursday morning, following a week's illness of pneumonia. Mr. Davidson was born at Morebattle, Roxboroshire, Scotland June 27, 1838 and came to this country with his parents when a lad of eight years. They settled in the vicinity of Roseboom and March 12th, 1866, he was united in marriage to Miss Melissa Sherman of that town. They resided in that vicinity until 1877 when they moved to Cooperstown where for years they resided on the Fenimore Farm of Edward Severin Clark. A few years ago they moved to the place in Pierstown. Mrs. Davdison died a year ago last October. Since early manhood Mr. Davdison has been a member of the Baptist church and he was a man of upright character who left the memory of a long life devoted to good works. Surviving are the following children: James A. Davidson of Herkimer and Minnie D., S. Jane, Lewis W. and Andrew, all of Cooperstown. The funeral will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. E. C. Partie officiating. Interment at Lakewood cemetery."
