They say life is a journey, Bettie will tell you hers was a great ride. On March 6, 1940, Billie was born in Newark, Arkansas daughter of Flossie (Henderson)and Lindsey Sisk. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to San Diego, California where Billie, her two sisters, and three brothers grew up. After graduation, Billie worked for General Dynamics. At the age of twenty, Billie met and married Andrew K. Patrick, a naval officer stationed in San Diego. For the next sixteen years, they moved from coast to coast and overseas, raising their son Dean and Daughter Andrea all the while making new friends. Upon Andy’s retirement from the Navy, the family settled in Hesperia, Michigan where Andy and Billie built a successful insurance agency over 21 years. They met numerous wonderful people who became very close friends. For Billie, nothing topped spending time with family and friends. Of all the places she lived and traveled to she would tell you home is Hesperia; the town and the people she loved.
Her final leg of her journey brought her to South Haven to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She was well cared for and loved the staff at River Ridge and Hospice. Her journey here on earth may have ended but a new one is beginning.
Her only wish is for you to live life, embrace love, laugh often, and make a new friend.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Andrew Patrick, son – Dean Patrick, and sisters – Bea Knight and Bet Halliday.
Billie is survived by her daughter – Andrea (Kevin) Olson, grandson – Drue D. (Jennifer) Patrick, great grandson – Kinley Patrick, brothers – Bob and Ben Sisk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held. Billie will be laid to rest in West Hesperia Cemetery in Hesperia, Michigan.
