Mary Ella Reece was born on February 25, 1894, in Onia, Arkansas to Joseph Lee (Joe) and Argent M M Freeman Reece. Mary married John Holly Webster in 1917 in Arkansas. John passed of the flu in 1928. Mary never remarried. They had no children, but adopted one child, Leon Dewey, during their marriage.

The 1920 US census list Mary and John living with her sister and brother, Ola and Allister in Big Hill, Osage, Oklahoma. The 1930 US census list Mary, widowed, living in a rented home with her son, Leon, in Yale, Payne, Oklahoma.

Mary passed on December 28, 1977, in Santa Clara, California, at the age of 83. She is resting near her brother, Allister, in Mission Memorial Park,Seaside, California.
