Excerpt from a story my Aunt Corinne sent me in 1985 concerning her name and those of her siblings. "Now, it was my turn to be named. From the conversations with Mother and Aunt Etta, I think I was the hardest to name. Aunt Etta wanted to name me after a friend of hers and herself, making my name Marietta. Mother listened, but would not comply. Then Aunt Etta offered to give a little and wanted to name me Henrietta after her. Again, Mother refused. Mother told me that I had been named ever since she was a little girl. There were five Miller girls who walked to school with sisters of a neighbor. The older girls would not let Mother or the smaller neighbor girl walk with them. I would guess that they had to walk a distance behind them in order to tell their secrets. Anyway, Mother and the little girl, whose name was Corinne, became good friends. She said Corinne was so sweet to her that if she ever had a little girl, that would be her name. Then the second name came up. Dad said since not either of the boys had been named after him that he wanted me named after him. So, I got the name Jimmie Corinne."
She always went by the name of Corinne (one r and 2 n's). Her maiden name was Kidwell. She married first Theron Nance. Sometime after his death, she married a man by the name of Roy Burleson.
