Marie Swank, age 89, of Manassas, VA passed away in her home on November 27th, 2016.
She was born on December 29th, 1926 in Leesburg, VA, daughter of the late Kemper and Irene Rust. Marie was a lifelong Manassas resident attending Osbourne High School and was first employed at the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. Later she worked for the Commissioner of Revenue, and as a medical receptionist for Dr. Seitz and Dr. Bolvari. Marie’s two biggest passions were her family and playing bingo. She could be found on most Thursdays and Sundays at the Knights of Columbus Hall with bingo daubers in hand.
She was predeceased by her husband and first love Robert Swank of Manassas, VA, her second love Otto Crouch of Middleburg, VA, her daughter Sherry Swank Bernacki and son-in-law Michael and her sister Louise Howser of Leesburg,VA.
Survivors include her daughter, Dale Summers of Matthews, NC, her grandchildren Tonya Hughes of Westport, CT, Robert Summers and his wife Kelly Summers of Monroe, NC, Heather Wilkey and her husband Matt Wilkey of Gilbert, AZ, her sister Marguerite Hope of Frederick, Maryland, her brother Charles Rust of Hereford, AZ, and her friend Helen Wallner of Manassas, VA.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 at Pierce Funeral Home 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Rudy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Leesburg,
