She was a decedent of the Alexander family, which were one of the first settlers of the Fairfield Community in Benton County. She attended Fairfield School and graduated Warsaw High School Class of 1945.
On December 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Carl “Bud” Thomas at Fristoe, Missouri—a marriage that would last for over 59 years. They made their home on the farm near Fristoe where they raised their family of one daughter and one son. Stock cattle was the main focus on the farm, with horses and other livestock too. She was a homemaker, loving and supporting farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed fishing, playing cards and working on puzzles.
She served as secretary of Warsaw R-IX South Elementary School for approximately 30 years. She was a member of the Fristoe Saddle Club and attended the First Baptist Church of Warsaw.
Eddie Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Bud” Thomas on April 1, 2006, one son that was stillborn, her parents and a granddaughter, Tracey Lynn Thomas.
She is survived by one son Jack Thomas, and his wife, Loreene, of Warsaw, one daughter, Joanne Glowczewski, and her husband Jim, also of Warsaw, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Bobby Joe Alexander and his wife Jewel, a sister-in-law, Elnora Alexander, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Reser Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Davis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from Noon until 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at the New Home Cemetery near Warsaw.
