J.A. WHIDDEN DEAD.
At four o'clock in the morning, September 23, J.A. Whidden passed to the great beyond, aged 72 years. Paralysis was the cause of his demise, having been stricken first some three and a half years ago. Appropriate funeral services were held at the cemetery Monday afternoon, and the last rites were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
In the death of J.A. Whidden Lake Wales loses one of her most respected citizens. He was as true as finely tempered steel and his word was as good unaloyed gold; his friends were legion; enemies, he had not a one. He was a pioneer of this locality and was beloved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The world has been made better by J.A. Whidden having lived.
