He was born May 17, 1930 in Kratzerville, a son of the late Bright and Bertha (Kline) Bailey.
On July 13, 1952, Carson married the former Dorothy K. Fornwald, who survives.
Carson was a 1948 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. He was a farmer, and owned and operated Northumberland Motors. Carson was a member of Zion's Church of Kratzerville, and the Shikellamy Antique Automobile Club. He had served as a school board director in the Selinsgrove School District for 16 years, and had served as president of the board for a number of years. He was a delegate to the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit and also served as a Jackson Township Republican Committeeman.
Carson enjoyed going to car auctions and sales, and hunting.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 66 years, are his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Voneida of Selinsgrove; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Char Bailey of Shamokin Dam, and Bruce and Dinah Bailey of Beaver Springs; three grandsons, Todd Voneida and his wife Jenifer, Ryan Voneida, and Ross and Kimberly Bailey; three great-grandsons, Thomas and Lucas Voneida, and Bright Bailey; and one sister, Lorene Eaton of Selinsgrove.
Funeral services will be private, with Pastor Kevin Rathmell, officiating.
Burial will be in the Zion Reformed Cemetery, Kratzerville.
