In 1933, he married Melba Henry of Vernal, Utah. They had six children: Floyd LaMond Tullis (Marta), Fae Tullis Chapman, deceased (Vaughn), Terry Tullis (Nancy), Roger Tullis, deceased (Tricia), Larraine Tullis Walker (Charles), and Amber Tullis Huber, deceased (Gary).
Melba died in 1980. On November 5, 1981 LaMond married Wilma Dick and became a loving father to her seven adult children: Linda Loveridge (Dale), DeAnn Ross (Steve), Karin Stansel (Howard), Nannette Miles (John), Sarah Stosich (Howard), Kathleen Vander Linden (Bill), and John D. Groesbeck (Janette).
In addition to his surviving wife, Wilma, his children and stepchildren, and his sister Fay Tullis Boyd, he leaves 55 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren.
LaMond and his first wife, Melba, were living in Salt Lake City as the Great Depression finally penetrated America's heartland. They decided to leave the city and take up rural life in Utah's Uintah Basin near Vernal --Melba's ancestral home. By his early thirties, LaMond's strong and vigorous personality, coupled with his naturally unbounded energy, were at work reclaiming a sheep ranch on Brush Creek, and later developing an electrical contracting business in Vernal, which sustained his family until his retirement in 1975.
