Mrs. Marmur, 57, died Sunday night in an automobile accident at their home. The accident occurred as she was sliding open the garage door for her husband. He was holding the car on the driveway's slight upgrade by exerting pressure on the gas pedal. Suddenly his foot slipped and pushed the gas pedal further down. The car lunged forward, pinning her against the garage wall and beneath the car. She died instantly.

The former Vernita Pellow and Marmur, author of 8 sea novels and many sea stories which have appeared in Colliers, Saturday Evening Post, and Country Gentleman, were married 35 years ago. They have lived in Larkspur since 1930.

Survivors of the native Californian besides her husband include 3 sisters; Anna P. Webster of Vallejo, Olive L. Dubourdieu of Sierraville, and Lucia W. Pellow of San Francisco.
