Nellie Smithson was the daughter of Albert Dilworth Smithson and Caroline Sopp. She married twice:

1. Oscar A. Hull, Oct. 27, 1909, Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania
Nellie's name is inscribed on Oscar's grave marker at Columbus, Indiana, but she was not buried there.

2. Chester Fraser Rose, after 1950
Chester's first wife, Edith Srpinger, died in 1947. He died in Louisville, Dec. 21, 1972, also buried at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.

Nellie May (nee Smithson) ROSE, of 1852 Heaton Rd., passed away in her 93rd year, Mon., Feb. 13, 1978 at 6:30 p.m. at Bethesda Manor nursing home. Devoted mother of Mrs. Sylvia Orrell of Redding, Calif.; also survived by her sister, Mrs. Florence O'Connor of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Remains at the W.G. Hardy Shively Chapel, 4101 Dixie Hgwy. where funeral services will be held Thurs. at 1:30 p.m. Interment Louisville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors Wed. from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m.
