Obituary of Ralph J. Bailey
Ralph J. Bailey, age 81, was reunited with his beloved wife on August 26, 2018 in West Valley City, Utah. He was born September 17, 1936 in Pocatello, Idaho to Charles and Ada Bailey. He attended Dayton High School in Dayton, Idaho where he graduated in 1954. Ralph married Carol Egbert on June 28, 1957 in Dayton, Idaho and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Ralph served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge. Dad/Grandpa enjoyed taking his trailer out camping and hunting. After retiring he became a crossing guard. He was a crossing guard for many years while his grandchildren were growing up. He usually took them for Arctic Circle ranch burgers and strawberry shakes after school. Dad and Mom loved to take road trips up to Idaho for scratch off tickets and up the West Coast to Oregon and Washington. He loved his family. Nothing made him happier than being around his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Nascar races, word searches, playing solitaire, The Price is Right and old John Wayne westerns. He had a passion for wood-working and could build anything Grandma came up with. He loved teaching his grandsons to shoot his 375 and his favorite revolver. He will be greatly missed. Also, Aspire Home Health, Bethany (P.T.), Lori (O.T.) and Lori (R.N.) for all the love and compassion you showed our dad. Ralph is survived by his children, Kenny (Ronda) Lair, Howard (Glenda) Bailey, Bobby (Barbara) DeMent, Bryan Bailey and Phyllis Rolfe; siblings, Steven and Larry Bailey; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. He is preceded in death by his wife and sweetie Carol; daughters, Barbara and Ronda; grandchildren, Brandon, Ralph O., Mary Ann, Jesse, Aubrey and Kenny; two sisters and two brothers; as well as his beloved shih tzus Rascal and Gigi. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will be held from 1:00-1:45 at Valley View Funeral Home prior to the graveside services.
