David Lee "Bud" Bone, 88, of Mt. Olive, died at 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton.

He was born on April 2, 1930, in Sorento to Herbert Eustus and Cordia Marie (Kimbro) Bone. He attended Sorento Grade School and graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1948. He served in the United States Navy in Korea during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Sorento American Legion.

The owner of Bone Oil Company in Sorento, he was a Civil War history buff, enjoyed farming and traveling and loved ballroom dancing.

He is survived by a son, Jay (Lisa) Bone of Staunton; a daughter, Laura (Tom) Glazner of Santa Fe, NM; a companion, June Hinz of Mt. Olive; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Quinten Bone and Norman Bone; and a sister, Joanne Bone.

Private family funeral services will be held.

Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive is in charge of arrangements.
