Inez Mae (Pike) Harris was born on June 24, 1897 in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky, the daughter of Tuscaloosa L "Tus" Pike (1871–1930) and Myrtle Ophelia (Roberts) Pike (1878–1966).
She spent most of her school years in Bowling Green before the family moved to Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee about 1914, and it was there that she graduated from Hume-Fogg High School.
Inez was married in December 1917 in Nashville, as the 1st wife of Curtis Hulen Harris (1889–1965), the son of Dan Harris and Cynthia M (Richardson) Harris. A conductor for the Nashville, Chattanooga & Saint Louis Railroad, Dan was married 2nd to Berdye Stone.
A member of Waverly Place Methodist Church and living at 928 Waldkirch Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, she was 47 years old and married when she had a heart attack and died at home in the early morning hours of May 31, 1945.
Survivors included her husband, son Curtis Ray Harris, her mother Mrs R L Culver of Louisville, Kentucky and her sister Mrs Lillian Bowles of Gallatin, Tennessee.
Funeral Services were held on June 1st at Waverly Place Methodist Church, and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville, with members of the Ladies Auxiliary, Hermitage Lodge No 560 Brotherhood of Railroad trainmen in charge of Graveside Services.
