Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
The family will be present for visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Robert Eugene House was born on November 2, 1939 in Lexington, Texas the son of Audrey and Berniece (Bernhardt) House. He was baptized on April 18, 1943 by Rev. Willard Ander and confirmed on June 6, 1954 by Rev. E. Heber at St. John Lutheran Church in Thall, Texas. Bob graduated from Thall High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army.
He married Lillie Mae Exner on February 13, 1993 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Wilbern Michalk officiating. Many knew Bob also as the "Taylor Meat Man" and was the area salesman for Taylor Meat Company for over 50 years. He enjoyed talking and visiting with everyone he met and Bob never knew any strangers.
Bob passed away during the early morning hours of Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Giddings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Bernice House and a brother-in-law, James Plant.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lillie House of Giddings; seven children, Paul House and his wife, Lara of League City, Jason House and his wife, Karen of Houston, Christopher Parker and his wife, Tressa of Rogers, Randy Parker of Beaumont, Carl Exner and his wife, Sandra of Lincoln, Susie Smith and her husband, Tim of Giddings and Pam Machac and her husband, Darren of Giddings; twelve grandchildren, Ruby House and Iris House both of League City, Clayton Parker and A. J. Parker both of Rogers, Candance Schimank and her husband, Nathan of Fedor, Craig Exner and wife, Cheree of Lincoln, Keith Exner and wife, Heidi of Lincoln, Michelle Krause and her husband, Brandon of Serbin, Dustin Kieschnick and his wife, Denise of Giddings, Ashli Hartranft and her husband, Steven of Giddings, Chaise Machac of Giddings and Ben Machac of Giddings; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Plant of Granger; and one niece, Jennifer Plant of Granger.
Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Exner, Keith Exner, Nathan Schimank, Clayton Parker, Dustin Kieschnick, Brandon Krause, Steven Hartranft, Chaise Machac and Ben Machac. Honorary pallbearers will be bob's great-grandchildren along with A. J. Parker, Frank Guardiola, Michael Beisert and Ronnie Beisert.
Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Tuition Fund, 4654 County Road 114, Lincoln, TX 78948-6444 or to the charity of one's choice.
