Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Janssen's Eagle River Funeral Home, 16421 Brooks Loop in Eagle River, Alaska. Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Angelus Memorial Park, 440 East Klatt Road in Anchorage, Alaska, with Pastor Martin Eldred and Mark Johnson officiating.
Alexander was born on Aug. 19, 1993, in Anchorage, son to Jeff and Elizabeth Johnson.
Alexander was a lifelong Alaska resident. He graduated from Chugiak High School. He worked for Northern Excavation and Construction and was a commercial crabber. Some of his favorite hobbies were soccer, hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with his friends. He was baptized at St. Andrew's in Eagle River.
The family wrote: "Alex had a unique ability to make friends wherever he went. He had a kind heart and will be sorely missed."
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Rosemary Johnson; aunt, Beverly Johnson; and uncle, Pat Vail.
A memorial account has been set up in Alexander Johnson's name at Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union to help out young people dealing with substance abuse.
