Hold Last Rites For Fire Victim Hardin, Aug. 11. (Special) Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon for Auburn Belder, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. -Belder, who burned to death Tuesday when flames destroyed the bunkhouse at the Belder ranch three miles west cf Crow Agency. The Rev. C. A. Bentley, pastor of the Baptist church at Crow Agency, officiated and music was furnished by the Harlin Ladies quartet comprising Mrs. J J Ping, Mrs. W. J. TBrekke, Mrs. H. M. Strand and Mrs. H M Strand and Mrs W A Ransier, with Miss Margaret Ping accompanist. Interment was in The Hardin cemetery.
the youth had gone to bed in a bunkhouse near his parents dwelling, a candle for lighting. He had laid down on the bed, reading by candle light, and evidently went to sleep. Then the candle had burned down, the cabin caught fire, enveloping the sleeping lad In flames. His cries awakened his parents about 10:30 p. and they rushed out to find the bunkhouse in flames. The youth carried several buckets of water, aiding in the extinguishing of the flames. After the fire had been put out, the mother noticed the boy was badly burned, administered first- aid and the parents then rushed him to the hospital at crow Agency, where he died at 1:30, Wednesday afternoon.
Besides his parents, the lad Is survived by two small sisters, Lorraine, aged 7, and Evelyn, aged 4. His paternal grandfather also survives..
