Lela Marie Fletcher, 83, of 201 Lewis Ave, died at Memorial Hospital of Union County during the evening of Wednesday, February 6 after a long illness.

A homemaker, Mrs. Fletcher was born on July 3, 1901 in Champaign County to Ira and Viola (Reed) Overfield, living in the Marysville area all of her life. She was a member of the Christian Church in Brownsburg, Indiana. On June 21, 1920, she married Clarence J. Fletcher, who preceded her in death on February 11, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Taylor.

She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Viola LaCrone, Marysville, with whom she lived, Mrs. Richard (Francilla) Owen of Southport, N.C., Mrs. Theodore (Margaret) Channell, and Mrs. Lee (Helen) Froideveaux, both in Plain City; two sons, Clarence Eugene Fletcher, Middleburg, and Ralph L. Fletcher of Pittsboro, IN; plus 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harry Overfield, Somersville.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City.
