Wanda Rumfield Coomer, 92 of Midland, Texas, passed away at home and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 14, 2018.
The family will accept guests from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Wanda was born to Hozie Rumfield and Ruth Abercrombie Rumfield in Anson County, Texas on February 15, 1926.
The family moved to Stanton, Texas in 1930 and she graduated from Courtney High School in 1944. She married the love of her life, Elmer Coomer, in Mineral Wells, Texas on June 17, 1944. Three years later in May of 1947, she gave her life to Jesus Christ and remained a faithful servant her entire life.
She worked for General Telephone in the Valley in the 1950’s and the family moved to Midland in 1958 when she started with SWBT. She retired on December 31, 1983. The love, kindness and selflessness she displayed in her life will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Wanda is survived by sons, Herman and Don Coomer; daughter, Sheila Coomer, all from Midland; grandson, Rance Coomer from Dallas, Texas; sister, Geraldine Burns from Midland, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hozie and Ruth; siblings, Cecil Rumfield, Claude Rumfield, Turner Rumfield, Gayle Rumfield, R.D. Rumfield, and Minnie Mae Corly.
