Mrs. Clarissa Catherine Roberts, aged sixty six years, eleven months and sixteen days, wife of Thomas R Roberts, died of cancer of the stomach this morning, at her home 502 North Prospect Street. She had been ill a number of years and her death was not unexpected over the last few weeks.
Realizing that death was near, Mrs. Roberts requested that her daughter, Miss Edith T Roberts and her fiance, A Guthrey Uncapher, be married before she died. At her request, Miss Roberts and Mr. Uncapher were married last Sunday morning at 8 o'clock standing beside the stricken woman's bedside. rev. George E Barnard performed the ceremony.
Lifted from her pillow by her husband, Mrs. Roberts bestowed her blessing amidst the tears of all. Since the marriage she has patiently waited the end and died happy.
The deceased was a member of the Free Baptist Church, and an active worker for the causes of Christianity and charity. She had long been a resident of Marion county and was well known.
The husband and three children survive, the latter being, Mrs. W.D. Drake of near Chicago, Mrs. Edward Andrews and Mrs. A Guthrey Uncapher.
The funeral will be held SUnday at 2 o'clock.
