Max G. Bouillet, 98, of Farmington passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 22, 1920 at Cook Hospital in Fairmont, the son of the late Arthur and Celina Bouillet.
He attended Farmington High School. Max proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Following the war, he worked at Barrackville, Grant Town, and Rachel Mines. He retired from the mines with 41 years of service. Max was also an avid fisherman and a proud member of the UMWA. He was a member of the Oakhurst Church of Christ in Farmington, where he served as elder for 33 years. He was also a minister for the Church of Christ at various congregations throughout West Virginia.
He is survived by a son, Max Wayne Bouillet and wife Shawna of Ohio; two daughters: Gail Lively and husband Phil of Farmington and Janice Bouillet of Maryland; 5 grandchildren: Justin Swanger and wife Elizabeth of California, Nicholas and Taylor Lively of Farmington, Derek and Joshua Bouillet of Ohio, and 3 great granddaughters: Lindsey, Lila, and Lacey Swanger of California; and a son-in-law: Frank Swanger of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Arthur Bouillet, Jr. and his first wife, Betty L. Bouillet and an infant daughter Linda Lee. Also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Alma Bouillet and daughter Terry Swanger.
The family wishes to express its appreciation to Interim Healthcare nurses, Erica and Leslie, and aide Kristi for their outstanding care they provided. Also, a special thanks to Pierpont aides Joyce and John for all of their wonderful care. We also wish to express special appreciation to Erica and Louise from WV Caring for all of their thoughtful help and support.
Graveside rites will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmington with Craig Matheny officiating. Marion County Veterans Council will render full military graveside honors.
