A native of Scranton, Mr. DePuy lived more than thirty-five years in West Scranton. He removed to Clarks Summit in 1914. At an early age he entered the employ of the Lackawanna Railroad. After years of faithful and efficient service he was promoted to engineman and became well known over the entire system. He won honorary retirement nineteen years ago.
Mr. DePuy was a member of the Clarks Summit M.E. Church and its Men's Bible Class. he was affiliated with Peter Williamson Lodge No. 323, F. and A. M.; Keystone Consistory, Brotherhood of Locomotive Enginemen and Firemen, and the Lackawanna Railroad Veteran's Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Calvin J. Coons, Scranton, and Mrs. George C. Stevens, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank H. Belden, Scranton, and Mrs. Ellen Kunkle, Philadelphia. His wife, Mrs. Elmira (Kresge) DePuy, preceded him in death four years ago.
The body will be taken to his Clarks Summit home from where the funeral will be held Saturday afternoon. Burial will be made in Clarks Green Cemetery."
