Dorothy A. Aasved age 85, of Sherman City passed away Friday, January 05, 2007 at her home with her family by her side. She was born June 2, 1921 in Flint the daughter of David and Adelaide (Alberg) Berg. Dorothy grew up in Flushing and married the late Fred Graham who passed in 1947. On June 21, 1951 she married Leland K. Aasved in Flushing moving to her current home in Sherman Twp. in 1967. Dorothy worked at McNeilly's Market (currently the Pitt Stop) in Barryton most of her working life. She enjoyed making crafts, cooking for everyone and was an excellent seamstress making numerous items for family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by four children: Sharon (Gary) Carpenter of Lake Kris (Dennis) Wernette of Ann Arbor Gary Aasved of Lake Greg (Kim) Aasved of Weidman Two Stepchildren: Maureen Barrington of Denver, CO Cheryl Moore of Kentucky 23 Grandchildren, 38 Great grandchildren, 3 Great great grandchildren, brother in law Dwaine Aasved of Quincey, CA, niece Jeanne (Mike) Ellingsen of Valley, WA. and nephew Ron Aasved of Quincey, CA.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by husbands Fred and Leland, two sisters Jean and Yvonne, nephews; David and Kim Aasved and grandson David Ptacek.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m Sunday, January 7th at the Sherman City Church with Pastor Randy Piatt officiating.
The family will greet friends (today) Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton and one hour prior to services at the Sherman City Church.
Memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to the U of M Cancer Center or the charity of your choice.
