She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Ernest Tobe Pitts, Sr., her daughter Ms. Mary Ann Pitts Card, Mrs. Ida Slaughter and Mrs. Rosa Gordon Davis; brothers, Mr. Charlie Gordon, Mr . George Gordon, Sr., Mr. Fred Gordon, Mr. Henry Gordon, Mr. Arthur Gordon and Mr. Jerry Gordon. She will be fondly remembered by her devoted and loving children: daughters, Mrs. Hattie Moore, Mrs. Alberta McKay, Ms. Dorothy M. Pitts, Mrs. Marie Axon; her sons, Mr. Ernest Pitts, Mr. Henry Lee Pitts, Sr and Mr. George Wilson Pitts, Sr. and her step-sisters Mrs. Odessa Howard and Mrs. Alice Gary. Mrs. Pitts enjoyed expressing herself, "Joyfully" and was very energetic, full of laughter and loved singing until her health declined.
