Betty Lou Brower Albertson, dear sweet mother, grandma and great-grandma, returned to our Heavenly Father on September 21, 2018.

She was born to Ernest and Ezila Smith Brower. She was the eighth child out of ten. Five sisters: Eva, Nona, Lucille, Helen (passed in infancy) and Verda (passed at 6 years old of diabetes); and four brothers: Rex, Harmon, Ken and Marvin. The family lived on a farm just 2 miles south of Ashton, then later moved to the town of Ashton, went back and forth to Lamont, later in 1968 settled in Farnum just south of Ashton.

She attended Ashton Schools, riding in a school bus that was a wagon drawn by two horses. Her dad was the bus driver and used their horses. In the winter a potbelly stove in the middle of the wagon served as the heater.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was called to numerous callings in the Church and served every one of them faithfully.

She married her sweetheart, Mark Albertson, on June 1, 1949 and was later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Later in life, they served a Stake Mission at the Family History Center in Ashton. This is where she fell in love with Family History. She belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Sariah Camp since 1998.

She was a very patient and loving mother with a great sense of humor. Her laugh will never be forgotten. Loved working in the yard, gardening and canning. Her passion was being a teacher’s assistant for the North Fremont High School in Ashton; she loved every student.

She loved to sing and was always in church choirs and a wonderful group called the Notations that would sing at various places. The one place she loved to go sing was at the Ashton Living Center.

She was awarded “Farm Wife of the Year” and was very proud of that honor.

Her greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother. In tough times, she also had to help provide by working outside the home. We will miss her deeply. We love you, Mom.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Albertson; parents; and all her siblings.

Survived by her children: Susan (Howard) Stewart, of Idaho Falls, Leslie (Jeri) Albertson, of Erda, UT, Wyatt (Ann) Albertson, of Santa Anna, CA, Monte (Cresta) Albertson, of Idaho Falls, Janalee Albertson, of Ashton, Darren Albertson, of Provo, UT, and Janean (Lance) Mower, of Ashton; 22 grandchildren and 39 great--grandchildren.

Our families want to especially thank all those wonderful people at the Ashton Living Center for the special care that was given to our Mother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, at the Ashton Tri-Ward Building, 1313 North 3600 East, with Bishop Jim Jorgensen of the Ashton 2nd Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the church.

Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
