11 May 2007: Henry Apple, Jr., 75, Lebanon, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 in Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Willie P. (Abbott) Apple, with whom he celebrated a 52nd wedding anniversary in April. He was born in Danville, VA, a son of Viola Harrison Apple of Danville, VA and the late Henry Apple, Sr. He was a retired machine operator having worked for over 20 years at Lebanon ALCOA plant. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of John Merrer Langston High School in Danville, VA. Mr. Apple attended Bright Side Baptist Church in Lancaster and was a member of American Legion; and was a Freemason. He loved to tend to his vegetable garden and was a devoted family man, who loved traveling home to Virginia often. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Wanda J. Albino, companion of Jesse Sales of Lebanon, Violet M. Apple of Lancaster, James C. Apple and companion, Marisol Class of Lebanon, Pamela R. Apple of Lebanon, Wayne D., and wife, Robin Apple of MD, Alphonso L., and wife, Jenell Apple of Lebanon, Alonzo L., and wife, Angela Apple of Lebanon; 10 grandchildren; brother John T. Apple of Danville, VA; sister Barbara J. Apple of Danville, VA; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Theressa Apple and sister Mary Apple. Funeral Monday at Bright Side Baptist Church, Lancaster. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Tuesday, May 15. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
