According to a death notice published in "The New Era," Osborne Williams was born earlier than his headstone reads. The headstone was erected after his last wife, Callie Crowder Williams, died - 47 years after his death - so the error is understandable.
The year of Osborne's birth was recorded as 1818 in the 1850 census, but later censuses recorded it as 1820 and 1823. He was a farmer and was married four times.
Osborne Williams' first wife was Martha "Pattie" Broom. They had six children:
William Hamlington Williams, born in 1842
Jane Williams, born 1843
Sarah Williams, born 1847
Susan Williams, born 1849
Martha Williams, born 1854
Richard O. Williams, born 1859
Osborne Williams married Harriet Amelia Hord Wesson, widow of Drury Dobbins Wesson, on Dec. 5, 1965. It is believed they had at least one child, Margaret Williams, born 1869.
Harriet died April 3, 1875 and Osborne married Harriet's sister, Emily Louveny Hord, Aug. 6, 1875. In 1879, Emily was shot and killed by her step-son, Richard O. Williams. He fled the scene and was never apprehended.
Osborne married his fourth wife, Caldonia "Callie" Crowder, Aug.18, 1881. They had two children together:

Maude Williams, born 1884
