Karl Gerhard Siebach, 91, passed away peacefully at his home in South Salt Lake on December 29, 1995.
Born June 28, 1904 in Annaberg, Germany to Ernst Ludwig and Auguste Lina Wagler Siebach. He joined his father and brothers in the U.S. after [sic - before] the death of his mother in 1925. Married Bertha Julia Nydegger on June 28, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1988.
Gerhard worked in New York with his father and brothers in the family glove business, after which he worked in South Salt Lake with his father-in-law in the cement contracting business. Later, he worked at Ajax Presses and Steven's Heneger College and retired at age 86.
He was an active High Priest in the LDS Church, having held numerous leadership positions. He served as zone leader in the Northern State Mission and maintained the missionary spirit all his life. His greatest concern was caring for others and not himself, thus engendering deep friendships.
Survived by two sons, John E. (Judy), South Salt Lake; David K. (Nanette), Sandy; four grandchildren, Jennifer Holt (Jason), Jane, Mike, and Paul, many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers Jack and Sharon Wood, and Rocky Mountain Home Health Care.
Funeral services will be held January 4, 1996, 11 a.m. at the Madison Ward, 2700 So. Main Street. Friends may call Wednesday 5:30-7 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Mortuary, 2128 So. State St. and Thursday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
