12 May 2007: Charles Bern VanHorn, Sr., 72, Chambers Hill, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, in Lebanon VA Medical Center. Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years, MaryAnn Danko VanHorn, whom he married June 8, 1957; daughters Lynn Smatana of Cleveland, OH, and Mary Katherine Burrows of Chambers Hill; son Charles B. Van Horn, Jr. of Hershey; and grandchildren Johnny Smatana and Casey Smatana, both students at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, Jess Smatana of Cleveland, and Billy Burrows, Sophia Burrows, Vito Burrows and Ivana Burrows, all of Chambers Hill. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by brother John, who had performed with him on many occasions. Funeral Monday, May 14, at Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Hummelstown.
