"Mrs. Elsie Jayne Meier, 92, North Kansas City, died Thursday at North Kansas City Memorial Hospital. She was born in Adams County, Ill., and lived in this area for 56 years. Mrs. Meier worked for the Whitaker Cable Corp. before she retired. She was a 56-year member of the First Christian Church of North Kansas City. She was past national president of the Burlington Railroad Veterans Auxiliary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Jarchow-Schroeder Post of the American Legion Auxiliary. She leaves a son, Duane L. Meier of Kansas City, and a grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, September 27, 1986
